Opinion of a Flight Attendant: Your Top 4 Concerns
Let me tell you a little bit about what goes on in the airline industry. First thing to remember, what you know today about traveling by plane, will probably be different tomorrow. In this fascinating ever-changing industry, there are much more to it than what meets the eye. Considering that I have been a flight attendant for a long time, I would like to finally address 4 common concerns and issues that most passengers will eventually have to face.
They have lost my luggage
Yes, I know. They will eventually lose, open, or temporarily displaced your luggage. It happens to all of us, including flight attendants on duty or not. Get into the habit of carrying a small carry-on bag with you containing your pajamas, your medications, and some snacks. During my last trip to Japan, I ended up backpacking without a backpack. No kidding.
My flight is delayed…again
So what? If you only knew what goes on behind the scenes, you would be very grateful to still be on the ground. Airlines don’t purposely try to mess up your vacation plans, things happen. I absolutely understand that it can be frustrating , as I am also exhausted from my 13 hour shift and I might end up wearing the same underwear for 48 hours straight after falling asleep on the same airport bench as you.
Where are my pretzels?
As I totally understand that eating and drinking is a matter of survival, an airplane is not a restaurant. Unless you are flying first class on a long-haul flight that probably cost you over $20,000, I suggest that you buy water and snacks at the airport before boarding the plane. Not that I don’t want to give you pretzels or peanuts, but so many things can happen that will prevent me from feeding you.
Mile High Club
It is at your own risk. If I catch you trying to have any kind of inappropriate behavior onboard my flight, you will definitely have to explain yourself to the authorities upon arrival. Yes, I have caught some of you in lavatories . You didn’t know that I could unlock the door? An airplane lavatory is gross and dirty, you could end up catching diseases.
I hope that I made you smile and that you enjoyed my Opinion of a flight attendant: Your top 4 concerns. Please, learn from them and enjoy your flight. After all, isn’t an incredible privilege to be able to fly?

I am always really nice to the flight attendants. It’s a crowded and sometimes stressful place to work – I can only imagine how challenging it must be for them!

We often don’t think of the people working hard to serve us. Instead, we grumble and complain and often take our annoyance out on those just trying to do their best job.
