Make sure that your lights work, even if your teen drives only during the day. If it rains or snows, your lights will make them visible to other drivers. Tires
Check to make sure that your tires are in good condition and are inflated properly. Tires wear out and with the colder weather coming our way, it is definitely not a good time to be driving on worn down tires. Bald tires are more likely to skid and slide on the road, and they have a higher risk of being damaged by potholes. You can watch for signs of wear by looking at the tread depth. You can use a coin and insert it head side down between the treads on the tire. If you can see the top of the head on the coin, your tires probably need replacing. Don’t forget to check the pressure on your spare tire too!
Battery
Car batteries come in different sizes. It is important to choose the right one to ensure the correct fit and that the power is sufficient. The cold weather is hard on car batteries, so it is important to test your car battery annually. The only way to ensure that your battery is fully charged is to use a voltmeter or a battery tester. If your battery is in good condition, the voltage will be between 12.4 and 12.7 volts.
