Kitchen cabinets get a lot of use each day, from grabbing your dishes, snacks and more out of them. Overtime they can get a buildup of grease and grime. If you have cabinets right around your stove, you might notice they get sticky easy. The grease from cooking can rise up in the air and stick to your cabinets.

It is a good idea to wipe down and clean your cabinets regularly. To start off you need to do a deeper clean if you have a bit of a build up. Below is the best way to clean greasy kitchen cabinets, quick and easy!

I always recommend testing out an area on your cabinets, to ensure it doesn’t react with your finish on them. Test on an area that is not seen often, so if it does cause an issue, it won’t be seen all the time.

Another general rule is when you go to clean your cabinets, never over wet them, or it could ruin the finish on them. Those are just a couple tips I like to get out of the way, so that you know before you dive into cleaning.

In a spray bottle 16 oz-20 oz size, mix in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 5 tps of white vinegar and warm water to fill the bottle. Shake the bottle good to mix it up, and then lightly spray on the doors and drawers that need cleaned. With a soft cloth use it to wipe away any grease and grime that has built up.

If you have an area that really needs worked on, mix baking soda and water together to create a thick paste, and apply it to the area. Let it stand for 5 minutes, and then wipe it clean with a wet cloth. Repeat as needed.

The vinegar works great at breaking down the dirt, grease and grime that builds up. Now you can also use a dish detergent, like Dawn. You can mix 2 tsp to a gallon of water, and use that to wipe down your cabinets, it will do a good job breaking down the grease.

You don’t want to use a really harsh cleaner, as it can break down the finish on the wood cabinets, and that could ruin them.

I wish I had known this years ago. My old apartment’s kitchen cupboards were disgusting when I moved in. They needed many hours of cleaning.

Wow, I’m astonished. I’ve never used vinegar & olive oil to clean anything, that’s the basis for my salad dressing just as Lynda mentioned. I will certainly hang onto these tips and thanks for sharing. 🙂
