It’s officially September. But wait. Summer is still here! We are enjoying every second of it by swimming in our pool. Every day, several times a day, we jump in to try to make the biggest canon ball. We might even continue to enjoy the pool into Fall. The forecast is for above-average temperatures this fall. Thankfully, we have stocked up with our new favourite sunscreen. This summer, we discovered the new and improved formula of Aveeno Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF 50 mineral sunscreen. This newly dermatologist recommended reformulated sunscreen uses 100% naturally sourced zinc oxide plus Active Naturals Oat that nourishes your skin and provide a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection from the sun. Until now, I didn’t know that zinc oxide was a UVA/UVB filter. Zinc being a mineral, has the ability to sit atop the skin and reflect the sun by scattering away ultraviolet rays. Wow!
Aveeno BABY Sunscreen SPF 50
We also fell in love with the new Aveeno BABY Sunscreen SPF 50 this summer. It has all the same benefits of Aveeno Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF 50 plus it won’t sting your eyes! It is clinically shown to be gentle on babies’ delicate skin. Because it is light-weight, non-greasy, and has a non-sticky feel, my children actually enjoy applying it! They love that the mild formula doesn’t irritate their skin and feels really nice. I love that is it free of all fragrances, parabens, phthalates, and dyes. It’s good to know that we are protected during our endless canon ball sessions.
I also like to carry Aveeno Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF and Aveeno Baby Sunscreen SPF 50 in my day bag so we can reapply them during the day. Both sunscreens are water-resistant up to 80 minutes and should be applied daily, 30 minutes before going outside. Applying sunscreen several times a day is not only reserved for playing in the pool or your trips to the beach. It should be applied everyday all year around.
Remember that UVA rays can penetrate glass so you should protect your skin during long car rides too. Don’t forget to wear sun glasses, a hat, and take breaks from the sun by finding shade.
