We had the most amazing time recently when we went on a RV vacation. It was our first time traveling in an RV and we loved it. We traveled to several Ontario Parks during our vacation and we explored everything along the way. Travelling in an RV is such a fun way to go around and experience Ontario Parks. It is like carrying the comfort of your house with you everywhere you go.

Ontario Parks RV Vacation

This post is sponsored by Ontario Parks. All opinions are mine.

Our RV vacation all started when we were invited to celebrate Ontario Parks’ 125th anniversary. We were chosen with other amazing travel writers to visit the beautiful landscapes of  Ontario while driving in a custom-wrapped RV.

Algonquin Provincial Park

Our first stop was at Algonguin Provincial Park on August 22, 2018. We were really happy to attend the OP125 time capsule ceremony at Algonquin Provincial Park‘s Visitor Centre. The time capsule was placed in the floor of the Algonquin Visitor Centre and will be open in 25 years in celebration of the Ontario Parks’ 150th Anniversary. Our first night in the RV at Algonquin Provincial Park was so much fun. We made new friends who were curious about the RV. We even met some of you, my readers, who were following our adventure on social media.

Oxtongue River – Ragged Falls Provincial Park

Our second stop, was at Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park. We spent a few hours hiking and looking at the falls. The view was stunning and the sound of the water was so relaxing. There is no overnight camping facilities at Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park so we made our way to Arrowhead on the same day.

Arrowhead Provincial Park

We spent the afternoon and our second night at Arrowhead Provincial Park. I noticed from the start that our camp site was covered by beautiful golden sand. At this park, we had the opportunity to canoe and to swim. We were stunned by the beauty of Arrowhead Lake and Mayflower Lake. We saw tons of fishes and a beautiful Great Blue Heron. It was our kids first canoe ride and they had an amazing time.

Ontario Parks RV Vacation
Restoule

On the third night we stayed at Restoule Provincial Park. The wildlife was very active, we saw many turtles, deers, and chipmunks at this park. Our RV site was very quiet and surrounded by a beautiful maple forest. We spent our time hiking the Rangers Point Trail and watching the Stormy Lake Bluff and historic Fire Tower. It was so beautiful and absolutely relaxing.

Ontario Parks RV Vacation
Six Mile Lake

Our last night was at Six Mile Lake Provincial Park. We fished for several hours from the dock and all caught many fishes. The kids also fished directly from the beach! We also had an amazing time hiking the Living Edge Trail where we saw beaver lodges. The view was stunning and the air was filled with a delicate pine smell.

Ontario Parks RV Vacation

We had so much fun during our RV vacation around Ontario Parks that we didn’t want this trip to end. We are definitely planning to go back and explore everything we didn’t have time to do. Follow Ontario Parks on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Don’t forget to share your own Ontario Parks moments by using #OP125. Keep following #OPEscape to find out where the RV is right now.
