Candy Heart Cutout Cookies

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! We have been very busy baking some of the most amazing cupcakes and making different Valentine’s Day crafts to decorate our home. Today, we decided to make these adorable Candy Heart Cutout Cookies. We got all our little ones involved! It is so much fun to get the kids in the kitchen!

Candy Heart Cutout Cookies.

Ingredients that you will need

2/3 cup salted butter
3/4 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups all purpose flour
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp milk
red jolly rancher candies
red food dye

Directions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, salt and sugar until combined.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla.
Add flour and baking powder. Stir until dry ingredients are fully combined.
Color dough with red food dye.
Lightly flour your kitchen counter and roll dough out to a ⅛ of an inch. Dip a large heart cookie cutter into flour and cut out the cookies.
Place cookies onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Dip a smaller heart cookie cutter into flour and cut a heart from the center of the large cookie heart. Remove dough. Fill center of heart with red crushed jolly rancher candies.
Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 8 to 9 minutes.
Allow cookies to cool down before removing from the cookie sheet or the candy center will break. Enjoy!
