I choose to be happy #LifeAdvice
Do you believe that being happy is a choice? I used to think that finding happiness was like looking for a needle in a haystack. You had to be really lucky to find it. I believed that until the day a good friend of mine told me that happiness would not come knocking at my door. I had to work for it. She showed me that making small changes in my everyday life could have a huge impact on my happiness.
What was I thinking?? I thought happiness would come to me! I didn’t know I had to create it for myself. I was injured a few years back and I could not see the end of it. I started to search for positives in my pain. At some point, in many different ways, we will all encounter pain. Finding the bright side of sufferance is not easy but necessary. Nurturing positive thoughts, true thoughts, can help us to be grateful and to realize that we have so many other blessings.
We all have received #LifeAdvice that had a significant impact on our lives and has changed the way we see things. I would like to encourage you to send some of those people a shout-out to thank them today. Share Life Advices that you have received and tag those who you are thankful for.
I would also like to invite you to join the @Manulife #LifeAdvice Twitter Chat on Tuesday December 9th at 9pm EST and to visit Manulife blog to learn more about this great initiative.

What an important thing to remember especially this time of year!! The world seems a lot brighter when you are happy and a good outlook as well.

That’s so true, you don’t wait for it to come to you. And it’s also in the way you perceive things too.

That is one great motto to live by! Oftentimes we are grumpy or not happy, but if we choose to look on the bright side, you see things a whole lot differently. Great post!

Yes, being happy is a choice. I have to remind myself each day.

I feel the same way about happiness and today was definitely a day when I needed a reminder. Thank you.
The turning point happened for me when my best friend, who had been coping with a serious illness, told me that gratitude was the greatest place she’d even been to. I realized that gratitude and happiness weren’t something that would happen to me but were a mental place I could choose to go to, or not. It was a very freeing realilzation to have.
