Last month I shared with you My Small Achievable Wellness Goals. While we did great with drinking more water, laughing more often, and walking more, we dramatically failed with our fourth goal- Sleep earlier. We were probably too busy laughing to notice that bedtime was not being respected. Haha! I also forgot some of our other goals along the way. I had to read my post a few times to remind myself what we were supposed to do.
Regardless of our setbacks, I think that reflecting on this past month will help us achieve our wellness goals. We know for sure that sleeping earlier is more challenging for us. I have been busy flying and blogging, the kids got sick, my pilot husband is now Captain and we are raising unexpected baby love birds. Our adorable but loud baby birds don’t sleep thru the night yet.
I could probably give you a hundred reasons why we can’t get to sleep earlier. One thing is for sure, we need to get back on track and keep our goal in mind. We have decided to set the kids’ bedtime at 20h00 and we need to stick to it. My bedtime is now set at 23h00. We can do it! We have to do it! We will definitely all benefit from a regular bedtime.
We will also keep up with our other wellness goals including drinking more water, laughing more, and walking more. Drinking more water is now really easy for me, especially when I carry around a can of Nestlé Pure Life Sparkling Water. Check out this video on the Today’s Parent web page about routine and healthy living for families for more inspiration.
Keep following me as we try to sleep earlier and don’t forget to share your own wellness goals using the hashtag #DrinkBetterLiveBetter. What are your wellness goals?

I don’t have a regular bedtime, it all depends on what I’m doing as to what time I go to sleep 🙂

Congrats on your hubby being captain! That’s amazing. Glad that sleeping goals are on track. I should be tracking my own family goals.

I absolutely love the idea of making small attainable family wellness goals! Laughing more! That is a great goal. I absolutely love this…. mental wellness is so important.

I agree! Routine is very important – it helps us keep track of our daily goals and schedules. Water and more sleep is definitely on our daily list as well!

We need to start being more consistent with bedtimes. Apparently, my kids seem tired at school at times. Starting with DST, we pla to work on this.

Thank you for the reminder and the inspiration to incorporate my own wellness goals. Mine are strangely similar to yours! I could definitely benefit from drinking more water and have been especially bad at getting to sleep at a reasonable hour lately. It’s never too late to work on those goals! #DrinkBetterLiveBetter

My children always had a regular bedtime, it just got later as they got older. 🙂

I like the idea of small achievable goals, and I definitely notice how better we all feel in our family when we get enough sleep!

My kids have a regular bedtime, but mine is less regular. Sleep helps us all though.
