Pouding Chomeur Recipe

Pouding Chomeur Recipe

This Pouding Chomeur Recipe is by far my husband’s favorite desert from my Quebecer repertoire. This an other one of my family recipes that has been passing from generation to generation.

For a taste of a classic French-Canadian sweet make sure to try this recipe today!

Ingredients

Dough

1 cup all-purpose flour

¾ cup sugar

½  tsp salt

2 tsp baking powder

½ cup butter

2 eggs

½ cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Sauce

2 cups brown sugar

1 1/2 cups water

2 tbsp butter, melted

¼ maple syrup (facultative)

Preparation

Dough

In a bowl, mix sugar and butter together. Add eggs and beat well until blended.

In a large microwavable bowl, combine all dry ingredients.

In a third bowl combine milk and vanilla extract.

Alternately pour the egg mixture and the milk mixture little by little over the dry ingredients. Set aside.

Sauce

In a medium microwavable bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and heat in microwave for 3 minutes.

Pour the sauce slowly over dough and cook 12 to 14 minutes in the microwave.

Voilà!
