I’m not one to make New Year’s resolutions or any kind of unrealistic wellness goals. I actually make conscious efforts to stay healthy all year long. It is much easier to set small and achievable goals than trying to reach one big and scary resolution.
Over the years my health goals have changed quite a bit. They were all realistic but they are somehow less attractive now that I have more wisdom. Ahem. This is why this year I am revisiting my goals and taking new steps towards a healthier me. Come along and set your own health goals as I am setting mine. Ready? Let’s go back to basics!
My Small Achievable Wellness Goals
First goal: Drink more water. Realistic. Check. Achievable every day. Check. Well, that was easy. I keep saying that I will drink more water but now it is time to actually do it. I can think of a million reasons to drink more water. My favourite reason being that water is essential for the proper circulation of…pretty much everything in the body. I like drinking Nestlé Pure Life water, including their sparkling carbonated water. So crisp and tasty!
Second goal: Laugh more often. Realistic. Check. Achievable every day. Check. Laughter is fun, free, and boosts my energy level. I will purposely find something (or someone!) to make me laugh every day. I can’t wait!
Third goal: Walk more. Realistic. Check. Achievable every day. Check. It may seem easy but since I had hip surgery last year, walking has been challenging. Thankfully, I am getting stronger and taking more steps every day and it will only help me get healthier.
Fourth goal: Sleep earlier. Realistic. Check. Achievable every day. Check. As I am writing this, it is 23h00. I should turn off my computer, relax and go to bed. I enjoy working at night when everyone is sleeping but I definitely have to set a consistent time to go to bed. We all know the benefits of a good night’s sleep. We can also all benefit from a regular bedtime routine.
That’s it.
I will be tracking my progress and any setbacks as I go. Please, feel free to follow my journey as it will definitely encourage me. You can also share your own wellness goals using the hashtag #DrinkBetterLiveBetter and remind me to follow mine.
We can do this!

I hope you were able to achieve your goals because we all know how hard it can be to change and stick to a new routine.

I agree with small goals! I need to drink more water as well and encourage my family to do so! Also, to sleep, laugh more and walk more for sure!

I do drink quite a lot of water as I drink a lot of Nescafe, since it’s very weak it’s really only lightly flavoured water. If I had to drink water I would certainly drink tap water as I object to paying so much more because it’s in a bottle. You can now get infusing bottles if you’d like to add some fruit flavour to it.
