Stockpile and stockpiling are probably my favorite words. Hehe! I have a very interesting stockpile but probably not the biggest in the area because I give most of it away.
If you are new to couponing, a stockpile is a pile or a storage location where you keep your groceries and other products that you have accumulated. Stockpiling is a popular practice that can make you save you a lot of money and it is definitely a lot of fun. By using coupons strategically you can get the things you need at the lowest price possible and you will never pay full price again! The goal is to match your coupons to the weekly sale prices to try to get your groceries at the lowest price. When you get a match, it is time to stockpile!
You should buy enough to last your family until the items can be purchased again at the lowest price possible. When purchasing items, keep in mind that almost everything has a shelf life and is only good for so long. The best way to keep up with shelf lives is to pay attention to expiration dates. It takes on average 3 months to build a stockpile. The first few months you will see an increase in your spending but once you start to use your stockpile, you will notice the savings.
With a large amount of groceries, you may wonder where you will store everything. To be honest with you, I still wonder the same thing. LOL. It can look very pretty to show off your hard work on shelves, but it is sometimes not possible to do. I personally store my stockpile where I need it, such as dish soap under the sink and can goods in the pantry. Fortunately, you can store your stockpile almost anywhere.
Very soon you will become more familiar with couponing and you will be saving hundreds of dollars a month! Happy Couponing!
