How To Turn Your Children's Clothes Into Savings. The Flying Couponer and Saving Money.

How To Turn Your Children’s Clothes Into Savings

It has been so warm outside, we can tell that summer is coming quickly. After a winter of being all bundled up, I can’t believe how fast my children are growing! As we are always on the lookout for money saving ideas, a friend and I decided to start exchanging clothes. Instead of buying new clothes for your kids, hand-me-downs can be a very easy way to turn-over all your little ones’ closets.

This is why I think it is important to keep your clothes happy, yes happy! Just like what Marie Kondo teaches us, we must be grateful for the clothes that protect us. It is easy to keep new and older clothes happy and in a great shape. Here are 3 tips to help you save money and keep your clothes in great shape.

How To Turn Your Children's Clothes Into Savings. Saving Money.

Swap. Call your friends and organize a clothes swap. Everyone can bring their kids’s old clothes and try to swap them over a nice cup of coffee. Tips: Invite friends that also wear the same size so you can exchange your own clothes!

Store. At the end of every season, get your children to store clothes that are now too small. Make sure to write the season and the date so they are readily available when your next kid needs an outfit. Don’t forget to wash the clothes before you put them away. Pro Tip: Use OxiCleanTM Foam Pre-treat to get rid of tough stains, including grease.

Preserve. Bright and colorful clothes are fun but can also lose a  lot of their vibrancy making them pretty hard to swap. The right detergent can go a long way in caring for clothes. Pro Tip: OxiCleanTM HDTM Laundry Detergent can help you keep your colours radiant and your whites white.

Go ahead and swap, store, and preserve! Now you know How To Turn Your Children’s Clothes Into Savings. Do you know any other tips for saving money by re-using clothes?

[…] Over the years, I have actively researched the best ways to organize my closet. I have been obsessed with organizing since I read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing and Spark Joy: A Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up by Marie Condo. Two immensely inspiring books that are nothing short of life changing. It changed my life dramatically in so many positive ways. I haven’t reached (yet!) my ultimate goal but I am much more happier now than I was when I started organizing with the KonMari method. […]
