There is a children’s book that I absolutely want to share with you that is one of a kind. What Can You Do with Just One Dollar?, written by WoodGreen Foundation’s Executive Director Teresa Vasilopoulos, is a very empowering book for kids of all ages.
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by WoodGreen. All opinions are mine.
I was really inspired to write about it because this book focuses on diversity, inclusion, and the wonderful power of giving to others. This book contains many ideas that kids can use to support causes, including having a lemonade stand and pooling dollars with friends to buy posters and markers to create signs for peaceful marches.
Not only does this book showcase the amazing feeling of pride and the accomplishment of giving, but the colorful images by Vic Guiza, the book’s award-winning illustrator, convey with creativity what kids can do to support causes that are important to them. It’s a perfect book for any parent who wants to teach their kids about giving back while also looking for fun activity ideas.
All the proceeds from the book go to support WoodGreen and its work to reduce poverty in Toronto. WoodGreens helps 40,000 people each year and is one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto, delivering integrated programs from physical, mental health, and disability services to affordable housing.
The book can be purchased on Amazon.ca, Indigo.ca, and Walmart.com.
