5 Cedar Fair Parks on a Platinum Pass
One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to go to Amusement Parks and feel like a 12 year old again! I am a huge Roller Coaster fan. I love to go to various parks wherever I travel because I want to see what they have to offer! If you don’t know about Cedar Fair, it is a company that owns and operates several amusement parks, water parks, and hotels in U.S. and in Canada.
If you purchase a Platinum Season Pass at any Cedar Fair Park (lucky you!), you will automatically get unlimited access to any Cedar Fair Park anywhere. You will also get free parking during the season. I choose to introduce you to the following 5 parks because they are all within an 8 hour radius of each other. You could start at one park and make your way around them all in a few days. This would definitely be an interesting vacation filled with tons of fun!
Cedar Fair Parks
Kings Island: Kings Island is located just outside of Cincinnati in Mason, OH. It is an Amusement Park filled with rides and it also has a built in Water Park. Kings Island has some record setting coasters including The Banshee, the longest inverted roller coaster and also The Beast, which is the longest wooden roller coaster.
Kings Dominion: Kings Dominion is located in Doswell, VA. It is very similar to Kings Island as they both have roller coasters, a water park, and Dinosaurs Alive exhibit. Some of the record holding roller coasters at Kings Dominion are The Intimidator 305, which is the tallest, fastest, most thrilling ride on the East Coast as well as The Dominator, which is the longest floorless steel roller coaster in the world.
Wildwater Kingdom: Wildwater Kingdom is located in Aurora, OH. Wildwater Kingdom is purely a water park! It is filled with slides, water rides, a long lazy river, and a huge wave pool!
More Cedar Fair Parks
Cedar Point: Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, OH. Cedar Point is a park filled with all sorts of different coasters and rides. I would say the main attraction at Cedar Point is Top Thrill Dragster. This is a roller coaster that takes off and goes from 0 to 120 mph in 4 seconds! It takes you at a 90 degree angle up a hill and back down. The ride only lasts 17 seconds, but it is one that you will remember.
Dorney Park: Dorney Park is located in Allentown, PA. Dorney Park is another location that includes a water park. It is home to the first and only floor less roller coaster in Pennsylvania, Hydra. Other impressive attractions at the park are Screamin Swing which is a pendulum ride that flips you upside down, and Possessed, which is a roller coaster that has two towers and it launches you both forwards and backwards!
Well, there you have it! Pay a flat rate of $200 to get a platinum pass and get into all five parks (or more) along with the fun of a road trip to visit each and every one of them. All of these Cedar Fair Parks have their own unique flare and they are all a really great time!
