These pretty Birds Nest Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting are made with a sugar cookie mix, cream cheese, and Cadbury mini eggs. This is such an easy Easter treat to make. All you need is a few ingredients and about 20 minutes to make fun and delicious cookies that everyone will love.

These Birds Nest Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting are one of my favourite Easter cookies to make. Not only it is a lot of fun to make cute cookies, but everyone will go crazy over them.
Also, what’s so great about these cookies is that they are so easy to make that you can get the kids involved. I used Cadbury mini eggs because I love them so much and they fit perfectly in the nests.
Birds Nest Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients
- 1 Package of Sugar Cookie Mix (and Ingredients to make it)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 1/2 Stick of Butter
- 1 1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- Food Colouring
- 1 Package Cadbury Shimmer Mini Eggs (or similar)
How to make birds nest cookies
To make birds nest cookies, you’ll need to follow these steps:
Prepare cookies using directions on the back of the package.
Create 1” Balls and press the balls down in the centre and build up the edges so that you make a “birds nest”. You will want the bottom of the cookies to be very thin.
Bake at 350 degrees for 7-8 minutes or until the edges start to lightly brown. Do not over cook. Remove from oven and leave the cookies on the baking sheet.
Press the cookies down in the centre before they cool so that they keep the “birds nest shape”. Allow cookies to cool completely.
How to make cream cheese frosting
To make cream cheese frosting, you’ll need to follow these steps:
Soften Cream Cheese & Butter.
Add in Vanilla and Mix Well.
Slowly add in Powdered Sugar & Mix Well.
Separate icing into 3 different containers.
Add desired colours with a toothpick so that the colours do not get too dark.
Mix well.
Once your cookies are cooled and the icing is coloured, fill cookies with cream cheese icing and add Cadbury Chocolate Eggs to garnish.
