Do you wonder how to coupon in Canada?
Read these simple tips to get started!
Learn as much as you can about couponing. The more you know, the more comfortable you will become.
Involve your friends and family. A good way to start is to share your passion with the people you know. Ask them to print coupons for you or to keep an eye open for tear pad coupons when they go grocery shopping. You can even trade coupons with them.
Don’t try to be perfect. It is understandable to pay full price if it is going to make you save time or make your life easier. If you have to drive 30 minutes to get a saving of $1.00, maybe you can pay full price in that case. We don’t want to exchange four quarters for $1.00.
Take your time. Rome wasn’t built in a day! There are many things to do and to learn.
Learn the coupon etiquette. The coupon etiquette is important for everyone, couponers or not. If we don’t take care of each other, companies might stop giving out coupons.
DON’T compare yourself to other couponers. There is really no point on comparing yourself to other couponers. We all need different items and have different coupons. Do the best you can with what you have.
Collect coupons. Pretty soon you will develop what I like to call the “coupon eye”. You will be able to spot tear pad coupons a mile away at the grocery store. You will also find coupons in newspapers, magazines and online.
Make a Pricebook. Pay attention to prices and keep a list of the items you regularly buy.
Visit my blog (of course!). Check out my website every day for the latest coupons, freebies and giveaways.
Are you a couponer? How long have you been couponing?

I’ve been using coupons for years. I find that coupons are a lot more restrictive now than they used to be. I remember as a youngster going grocery shopping with my aunt. She handed over a fistful of coupons, most of them for products she hadn’t purchased and those coupons were honoured. That, of course, was before the use of computers as cash registers.

I am a VERY big couponer. It can get addicting, but get exhausting and over whelming at the same time.
