How to Set the Table for Thanksgiving
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, you are probably already planning your dinner with your family and your friends. First impressions have a lasting effect, even when it comes to setting your Thanksgiving table. Though the star of the show is undoubtedly dinner with family and friends, the table setting is what sets the festive mood for the holiday. Long before the first appetizer hits the table, guests are treated to the visual delight of a beautifully set table, arranged with care and consideration.
When planning a Thanksgiving table-scape, the centerpiece is the focal point. There are many themes to choose from during this holiday. Whether autumnal or incorporating more crafty pieces like construction-paper turkey feathers and pumpkin-shaped place mats. Can’t decide? Why not incorporate more than one theme and get the best this season? For a more elegant theme, crisp white linens with matching white china and sparkling glassware is a classic. This creates a neutral palette for an autumnal centerpiece to really shine. For a fun-filled festive table, a craft paper runner with mason jars of crayons is sure to be a hit, allowing the little ones to add their own designs, limited only by their imaginations.
With so much thought devoted to planning the perfect holiday table, the last thing you want is for guests to be distracted by spotty dishware or dull, stained table linens. To keep your festive linens from fading, use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover. This oxygen-based stain fighter is chlorine free and colour safe. It can also tackle stains that detergent alone can leave behind. To keep your dishware spotless and sparkling use OxiClean™ Auto Dish Detergent Lemon Clean – this way you can be sure the first toast is as beautiful as the occasion.

the hardest part is getting a nice clean white tablecloth and keep it nice and white afterwards

I’m very lucky as I’ll be upstairs with my son and his family celebrating – so no cooking, decorating nor cleaning up for me. Well I do do the washing up but that’s it. My son is a superb cook, strange really as he was never interested as a child.
