Save Money and Travel Often
We have been feeling the low value of the Canadian dollar for a while now and I am desperately waiting for it to get higher. I purchased new photography equipment in New York recently and I am still trying to recover from it. Regardless, as you know me, the value of the Canadian dollar or anything else for that matter, will never stop me from traveling. In fact, it looks like I am not the only one who wants to travel.
As reported by a national survey ordered by Expedia.ca, 64% of consumers want to travel this year. The majority of those travelling (61%) are planning to travel close to home. It makes so much sense, since there are so many of us that want to save money and travel often. Also the Expedia.ca research shows that the most searched destinations for travel in 2016 were: Niagara Falls, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Quebec, Montreal, Riviera Maya, Orlando, Mexico, Banff, and Cancun.
No matter where you are planning to travel this year, Expedia.ca (and I) would like to offer you some great ways to save money and travel often.
Stretch your dollar – Travel where you can have more for your money. This year consider Asia. Hotels and food in Asia are less expensive than in North America.
Bundle up – Book your flights at the same time you book your hotel. Booking packages on Expedia.ca can save you hundreds of dollars!
Book early – The best time to purchase an economy airplane ticket in North America is around 57 days in advance. Planning ahead will save you about 10% of the usual fare.
Find deals on the weekend or on Tuesday – Usually, weekends are the best time to find deals, with Tuesday close behind.
