Visit the Ontario Science Centre this summer!
One of our favourite places to be on Earth is definitely the Ontario Science Centre. We could easily go everyday, hours at a time. There is always so much going on and so many adventures waiting for us.
Our latest visit took us into the mysterious world of the Humpback Whales in the spectacular waters of Hawaii, Tonga, and Alaska. Seeing these acrobatic whales, singing, eating, communicating and playing on a IMAX screen was breathtaking. We could almost feel the splashes on our skin as the Humpback Whales were slapping the water with their tails.
We also had quite a blast at MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition. We saw real gadgets and props from the television show MythBusters and watched live experiments. Discovery Channel’s show MythBusters specializes in testing wild hypotheses in super entertaining experiments. Our favorite part was about the most contested myth on MythBusters- Airplane on a Conveyor Belt. Did you know that an airplane can’t take off in one direction while it’s on a conveyer belt that is moving in the opposite direction at the same speed? The exhibition is so much fun as it features many interactive learning opportunities and real remnants from experiments on the show.
The Cohon Family Nature Escape is located in the Ontario Science Centre‘s backyard on level 6. In this four acre outdoor space, the children really enjoyed playing and sliding down a 125 year old tree trunk! Seeing the Nest House and the tree that inspired the Maple Leaf Forever song was amazing! What a gorgeous way to explore nature right in the middle of the city.
We hope that you will visit the Ontario Science Centre this summer. Science has never been more entertaining!
